OSTEOPATH

Dr Kirsten Chadwick

Kirsten is a senior partner at Brunswick Family Osteopathy and practices 4 days per week. Since graduating from RMIT in 1995, Kirsten has worked in N.Z., the U.K and Australia. She has been working in Melbourne’s inner north since 1996, building up a strong referral network in the area.

Kirsten has continued her postgraduate Osteopathic training with study in Cranial Osteopathy, and Paediatric Osteopathy. She loves treating all ages, but especially children as they continue to grow. Kirsten sees issues such as spinal postural development, early detection of scoliosis, and biomechanical dysfunction related to joint injury.

Another area of special interest to Kirsten is treatment of the head, face, and jaw (temporomandibular joint or TMJ). The combination of post graduate studies in Cranial Osteopathy, TMJ, Tongue Tie Institute and Orofacial Myology education allow a very detailed holistic approach into problems originating in or influenced by these areas.

Kirsten is also trained in the prescription of prokinetic insoles to aid foot function, and influence posture from the feet up.

OSTEOPATH

Dr Anita Biddle

Anita is a senior partner at Brunswick Family Osteopathy. She graduated from Victoria University in 2001 with a Bachelor in Applied Science and Masters of Osteopathy. Her master’s thesis focused on Osteopathic Treatment of Carpal Tunnel Syndrome. She joined Brunswick Family Osteopathy in 2004 after travelling and working in a variety of multi-disciplinary clinics.

Anita uses a variety of osteopathic techniques, including cranial osteopathy and joint and muscle manipulation. She places a strong emphasis on posture/ergonomics and addressing biomechanical factors causing dysfunction. She has a keen interest in obstetric manual therapy, chronic headache management and paediatric Osteopathy.

Anita finds Osteopathy to be extremely rewarding as it gives her the opportunity to help so many people. She currently practices four days per week while juggling life with two children.

Anita is an accredited Extended Practitioner in Paediatrics.

OSTEOPATH

Dr Alyssa Doyle

Alyssa is a registered Osteopath who completed her qualifications in 2009 at RMIT University in Melbourne. Her Masters Degree involved research into the effects of manual therapy on women's fertility and IVF success rates.

Since graduating, she has had the opportunity to work in both rural Victoria and Melbourne, gaining experience in treating a wide range of conditions. She has also worked as a locum Osteopath in the United Kingdom for eight months during an eighteen-month trip travelling through Europe.

Alyssa loves Osteopathy for its whole-body approach to treatment and its ability to treat each patient as an individual, including tailoring advice on exercise and nutrition where appropriate. Alyssa is qualified to undertake workplace ergonomic assessments.

She enjoys treating a variety of conditions and has a keen interest in low back pain, headaches, jaw pain and posture-related issues such as neck pain and headaches. Alyssa is currently working part time at BFO, she has three young kids and a chocolate labrador at home, keeping her busy while she's not at the clinic!

 OSTEOPATH

Dr Shelby Perram

Shelby is originally from Narrandera, a small country town in rural NSW 1.5 hrs north of the NSW/Vic border. Her interest in osteopathy was sparked when her father had success with treatment for a lower back complaint after a long career of shearing. She has completed a double degree in Bachelor of Health Science and Applied Science (Osteopathy) at RMIT University and is excited to return to Melbourne after two years working regionally in Albury, NSW.

Shelby enjoys treating a variety of musculoskeletal conditions in all ages, from infants to adults. She is also interested in treating women’s health complaints, including pre- and post-natal care.

She is passionate about getting to the root cause of her patients’ pain and looking beyond the body to outside lifestyle factors that may also be contributing. Shelby utilises a mixture of osteopathic techniques ranging from gentle joint release, soft tissue massage, dry needling, myofascial cupping, joint manipulations, and cranial osteopathy.

On the weekends you’ll find her out and about exploring new sights with her partner, playing AFL, running, and taking care of her large indoor plant collection.

OSTEOPATH

Dr Tristan Joss

Tristan graduated from RMIT University in 2017 with a 5 year double Bachelor Degree in Health Science and Applied Science in Osteopathy. On completing his studies, Tristan undertook a month’s secondment in India at a sports medicine hospital working alongside physiotherapists, Sports Physicians, and Orthopaedic surgeons. Since graduating Tristan has enjoyed working in clinics across Melbourne and country Victoria.

Prior to and while completing his studies, Tristan developed his manual therapy skills over 8 years as a Remedial Massage therapist at Hume Osteopathic Clinic. He also worked as a qualified personal trainer and hydrotherapy instructor where he enhanced his exercise prescription talents and fitness programs tailored for all kinds of people.

Tristan enjoys the variety that working as an Osteopath has to offer, treating all kinds of people from all walks of life. He has considerable interests in sports injuries, paediatrics, jaw pain, headaches and working out spinal problems with clients, enabling many to return to their activities of choice in good time.

Tristan currently practices at Brunswick Family Osteopathy 2.5 days a week.

He loves spending as much time with his young family as he can, visiting lots of parks, playgrounds, beach holidays and going to the zoo.

RECEPTIONIST

Caroline

As Brunswick Family Osteopathy’s practice manager, Caroline hopes to make the clinic a warm and welcoming place for everyone.

She has been with Brunswick Family Osteopathy since the practice moved to its current Weston Street location in 2017. Before that, she worked in a variety of jobs, from hospitality to journalism and academia, but you’ll often hear her say that this is the best job she has ever had.

Caroline is a local and has lived in the inner north since moving to Melbourne from Christchurch 20 years ago. She lives with her partner, two teenage sons and dog, Elsie.

RECEPTIONIST

Elly

Elly has been with Brunswick Family Osteopathy since July 2021. She is currently studying osteopathy at Victoria University and is due to graduate in 2025. Elly is passionate about all aspects of health and thoroughly enjoys seeing patients improving their health here at the clinic.

Elly loves interacting with people and feels very lucky to work in such a lovely environment with wonderful people. She is passionate about creating a warm and welcome environment for our patients and working here has made her very excited about her career as an osteopath!

Elly moved to Melbourne in 2021, her hometown being on the coast of NSW. She feels incredibly grateful to have grown up right next to the beach and is very fond of ocean swims, camping and adventures in nature. She is a big foodie with a passion for creating healthy recipes in her spare time, and is always on the lookout for new and exciting food venues! Elly also enjoys expanding her knowledge and at times immersing herself into another world through a good book.

RECEPTIONIST

Rachel

Rachel has been with Brunswick Family Osteopathy since late 2022. Rachel has enjoyed a diverse career, from being a registered Myotherapist, working in childcare and her last job before joining us as a flight attendant for 22 years.

Rachel enjoys working with people and has a particular interest in all things health. She is a local and loves sports, everything outdoors and hanging out with her family (including her cat and dog). 

To relax Rachel loves meditation, yoga, Ted Lasso, and good food (particularly with a nice glass of wine)!
